This Apple Pie is a timeless, comforting dessert that balances tart Granny Smith apples with warm spices and a flaky, golden puff pastry crust. The filling, infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar, creates a rich, aromatic sweetness, while the butter adds a luscious depth of flavor. Baking the pie to perfection allows the juices to bubble and the crust to crisp beautifully. Whether served warm with ice cream or enjoyed on its own, this homemade classic brings cozy indulgence to any occasion!

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Peel apples and cut into 1–2 inch wedges. Toss with dry mixture until well coated. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it into the bottom of a pie dish. Mound apple mixture on top.
  5. Roll out the second sheet of puff pastry and place it over the apples. Crimp and seal the edges by hand.
  6. Cut four elliptical vents in the top crust. Place a small pat of butter partially inside one of the vents.
  7. Sprinkle the top crust with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes to 1.5 hours, or until a knife inserted comes out mostly clean.
  9. Place a drip pan underneath to catch overflow. Remove from oven when lightly browned.
  10. Let cool before serving.
